Maybe it’s CVS?

If you’ve ever been to CVS you know they have extra care card where you can earn points for certain purchases made during your shopping trip. Well, since I grace CVS at least once a week, I rack up some major points & not long ago I got $8 CVS bucks!

I walk into CVS & instantly book it to the right where my favorite section awaits me…the make up section! I go right for what I came for Revlon’s Foundation…

I look right at the price for both my foundations & realize I want to get more bang for my buck! & I did!

I have heard a lot about Maybelline’s FIT ME line & decided to try the new Matte & Poreless foundation. At $8.49 a pop I decided to get 2 foundations! One for my base color and the other for contouring! I picked up the color 112 Natural Ivory & 230 Natural buff.

Here is the best part! Thanks to CVS & their CVS extra bucks I managed to get them both for 9 dollars! I will post a review in about a week to let you know if it was a great buy!

In the meantime, if you’re a CVS junkie like me, go SIGN UP for their CVS card! It is so worth it!

My current obsession!

I am always on the hunt for great mascara! Buxom Lash Mascara is my all time favorite mascara! But, the other day my lovely puppy decided he needed to have it! &&, I have yet to make a trip to Sephora.

However, I found a gem that I consider a dupe of my favorite Buxom Mascara and for over half the cost.

It’s CoverGirls Lash Blast Fusion! I am obsessed! It separates, lengthens and adds some volume to my blonde lashes! Best part is it is under 10 bucks and usually you can find a coupon in the paper or buy one get on 50% off 🙂

A few of my favorite things…Primer Drugstore edition!

Like an artist needing a blank canvas, Primers serve a similar purpose when it comes to putting on makeup. Primers create a more even surface and help your make up last all day long. I’ve tried tons of primers and here are my favorite drugstore primers!

1. E.L.F Studio Mineral Face primer for just $6 this primer helps combat excess oil, enlarged pores & fine lines. My makeup managed to last ALL day & kept oil at bay!

2. Rimmel Stay Matte Primer this primer is my current go to primer. It is lightweight, helps minimize the appearance of my crazy pores & lasts all day long (even after a busy day at the salon)

3. Face Studio Master Prime by Maybelline I currently flip flop between Rimmel and this primer. I use the Blur and redness control primer to help tame redness on my cheeks and chin. With the help of my foundation and this primer it certainly does the trick!

Sundays best?

By now, we have all heard of Younique 3D mascara which claims to transform your eyelashes from “ok” to “oh wow!” So, for just 30 bucks you can get Younique’s lash enhancing mascara. Well, as I was browsing CVS I came across Physician’s Formula mascara eye booster instant lash extensions for just $10! Which is claims to give you more fuller, thicker and more dramatic lashes (similar to younique’s mascara)

Now, I will admit I was very intriqued but, in some ways its a little time consuming to give your lashes the boost it claims to give. I had to double up on the process.

The directions state first put on the mascara and immediately following add the fibers and layer for an added effect. The fibers are a HUGE pain so, I suggest not putting your foundation on until after you finish your eye makeup and mascara.

Now the biggest question of the night (aside from the cliff hanger that will probably be left on the Walking Dead tonight) Is this a must have or a bust?

For a more cost effective version I would say this is a must. However, like any beauty product I could love it & you might hate it. But, when CVS has it on sale you can’t pass it up! But, see my results below.

undone waves!

Every where you look bobs are the trend & usually its the bed head, undone waves making the biggest splash! So, here is a little trick to create those beachy undone waves.

Once you’ve curled your hair, spritz some water and use your hands to scrunch those curls or waves. This is loosen the waves and create the bed head type texture!

Remember you only need a few spritz to create this look!

Fashion find!

Dom Perignon vs. Budweiser? $160 vs. $4? Look like a million bucks or spend a million bucks?

My fiancé always tells me I have champagne taste with a beer budget. So, any chance I get to look like a millions bucks and not break the bank I am all there! I will always find a way not to pay for price when it comes to clothes, accessories, makeup, shoes, purses & even food.

Got pores? Charcoal face wash/masks help minimize pores. The charcoal helps draw out and trap dirt that can be clogging your pores.

Biore and Garnier both have lines dedicated to charcoal face washes which can be found at your local drugstores!
